How do I calculate my seafarer sign-off date?
Add your contract length (in months) to your embark/join date. A 6-month contract that starts on 1 March ends around 1 September. This tool does the math and shows the earliest and latest dates allowing for the usual ±1 month tolerance.
What is the ± tolerance in a seafarer contract?
Most POEA/DMW-approved contracts allow the sign-off to move by about one month either way depending on the crew change port and relief availability, so a 6-month contract is often written as 6 months ±1.
